Picon Ltd is the leading industry trade association representing manufacturers and suppliers to the Printing, Papermaking and Paper Converting sectors. It is dedicated to providing support services and business advice to its members, a diverse range of organisations, from multi-nationals to SMEs, whose products provide solutions for all segments of the printing, papermaking and related markets.
The BPMSA (British Paper Machinery Suppliers Association) is a division of Picon and these members specialise in the design and manufacture of machinery and technological processes used in the manufacture of paper and board. Its regular publication ‘British Paper Machinery News’ has a world-wide circulation to paper mills.
On behalf of our members, we work with others in lobbying against adverse legislation from Government and other regulatory bodies and promote the expansion of national and international markets. This continued and active membership of UK, European and International bodies ensures that we can provide our members with valuable and relevant information.
Picon - the Printing Industry Confederation has been supporting UK suppliers and manufacturers through a number of name and organisational changes for more than 50 years. However the main purpose and focus of the organisation has remained unchanged; to use our resources as efficiently and effectively as possible to support our Member companies and their business interests.
Our members constantly tell us that the most valuable part of belonging to Picon is the networking opportunities. The Members’ Annual Dinner is the high spot of the social calendar. There are also Focus Group Meetings, Regional Meetings and Golf Days.
Member companies also benefit from financial support schemes including the Training Assistance Grant Scheme and the Picon Apprenticeship Support Scheme as well as membership of the Croner Business Support Helpline and ICSM (Information & Credit Search Management Ltd). Contact us for more details.
Picon has a Regulatory Affairs Focus Group whose discussion topics include changes to environmental & chemical legislation. The Group meet three times a year in central London and topics discussed in the past have included REACH, Global Harmonisation System and waste directives. Members of this group benefit from a monthly resume of all the relevant Consultative Documents.
