European paper recycling rate hits 71.7%

CEPI has just released its latest European paper industry sustainability report.

Key statistics:

There are 185,000 employees in green, white and blue collar jobs in the European paper industry.

75.3 billion Euros were added to the European economy.

Europe has a 23% share of global paper production.

Europe produces over 92 million tonnes of paper and board per annum.

In 2012 Europe recycled 71.7% of its paper.
