Trewin Restorick – Founder, Sizzle
Where does sustainability fit at a time of profound political, economic and social challenges? Should organisations row back on commitments, or do they need to be refined to take account of new circumstances?
Trewin Restorick was the Founder and CEO of Hubbub UK, which transforms how environmental messages are communicated by uniting people and organisations as a force for good. Hubbub twice won Charity of the Year and Trewin received a Global Leader of the Year award. In 2021, he won the Business Green ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and in 2022 was voted the most influential person in the UK’s recycling and resource sector.
His new venture, Sizzle, helps organisations support people in living greener lifestyles. He has also launched Treasure Gardening, a circular economy social enterprise.
Trewin previously created successful environmental enterprises including Recorra, a flourishing recycling business, and Global Action Plan, a long-established environmental charity. These built on experience at Friends of the Earth, where he was Director of Fundraising, and Plymouth City Council, where he supported new social enterprises. A frequent media commentator trained by Al Gore as a climate change ambassador, Trewin is a trustee of Carnegie UK and advisor to the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the National Lottery Climate Fund.
